Registration at the U.S. Embassy makes your presence and whereabouts in Paraguay known in case it is necessary for a consular officer to contact you in an emergency. Registration is particularly important for those who plan to stay in the country for longer than one month.

You may register in person at the Embassy or on-line through the State Department’s travel registration website Travel Registration. If registering in person at the Embassy, you should bring your U.S. passport with you. It should take no more than a few minutes to complete the registration card and have your passport recorded.

In accordance with the Privacy Act, information on your welfare or whereabouts may not be released to inquirers without your expressed written authorizations. Registration through the website is not considered proof of citizenship.

For registration, we are open Monday through Thursday from 1:00 PM until 4:30 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM except on Paraguayan and American holidays.
